Volunteers
Volunteers can help us by:
- Contacting non-offending caregivers by phone to complete a client satisfaction survey of their services received at Patsy’s House.
- Sorting through donations – stuffed animals, toys, juice and crackers.
- Ensuring that toy shelf, refrigerator, and crackers are stocked and ready for children and families.
- Assisting with community education programs and health fairs.
- Planting and maintaining flower beds.
- Decorating for holidays.
- Assembling fleece tie blankets.
- Assisting during special events – Pinwheels for Patsy’s House, Bingo, Bags & Badges, etc.
- Assisting with maintenance needs – replacing lights (indoor and outdoor), shoveling snow, touch up painting, etc.
- Interacting with children and families who come to the center by making them feel comfortable and at ease. This includes engaging children in activities such as playing a board game, coloring, reading or watching a movie.
To Become A Volunteer:
- Contact Patsy’s House Children’s Advocacy Center at (940) 322-8890 or at the email address below.
- You will be asked for your contact information and be sent a volunteer application to complete.
- Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older and a high school graduate.
- As a part of the volunteer application, a criminal background check will be completed.
- You will meet with the Volunteer Coordinator to discuss your interests, take a tour of our agency, and set up a schedule to volunteer.
- Training will be individualized and based upon your interests. Training for each volunteer will also include an overview of our agency, observation of the community education programs, introduction to child abuse, and how to respond to questions and situations that you may come in contact with while you are volunteering.

To kick off Child Abuse Prevention & Awareness Month, Wichita Falls & surrounding counties will read names representing children abused last year in the 8 counties Patsy's House serves in our 2nd annual Save Jane event. The event will be held at Patsy’s House Children’s Advocacy Center (1411 10th St.) on April 1st, 2022, starting at 1:00 PM. Volunteers from Wichita Falls and surrounding communities will read the names and ages of children who were reported as abused in Wichita and surrounding counties in 2021. Because these children are minors and their identities must be protected, “Jane Doe” and “John Doe” will be used in place of their names. The first Save Jane event launched in Dallas 3 years ago. April is Child Abuse Prevention and Awareness Month. Pinwheels will be placed on the lawn at Patsy's House Children's Advocacy Center representing children abused in the counties we serve. Beginning in April, you can help symbolically wipe out child abuse by pulling one pinwheel for every $20 donation.
